About This Event
We hope for 50 volunteers to serve about 50 students for the 22nd Annual International Furniture Give-Away between at CCC. Volunteers are needed to transport students*, greet, guide (help students select furniture types), help with household goods, be part of the kitchen crew, and other light duties. No Childcare will be provided and any children onsite must be supervised at all times. To help with the furniture delivery on Fri evening 8/21 and Sat morning 8/22/2026 from SOCC, please register at https://fga.bismvols.org/events/fga2026socc (This sign up is for Tuesday night only and will be at CCC.)

- We will provide shirts for those who donât have one, while supplies last.
ð Orientation
- After the service on Sunday, August 16 at CCC Gathering Space.
- Required for: Leaders, Guides, Guide Data Entry, Ambassadors, Welcome Table Hosts
ð Shift Arrival & Location
- Please arrive on time for your shift.
- Check in at the CCC Gathering Space on Tue 8/18.

- Maintain a positive, Christ-like attitude.

Student & Volunteer Check-in Team
Check-in and welcome volunteers and students
- Must be >16 years old with computer data entry experience (bring a laptop or tablet).
- Provide instructions and ensure smooth check-in process.
- Register unregistered volunteers.
- Distribute name tags to volunteers.
- Distribute t-shirts to volunteers without one.
Facilitation Team
Plan and facilitate the event to glorify God
- Must have had FGA leadership experience and requested by Lead Facilitator.
- Facilitators have roles that cut across the different teams.
- Ensure all leaders are Christian.
- Help plan for the event and attend associated meetings and be present all week.
- Facilitate smooth flow of people and furniture/household goods collection, storage and distribution.
- Assist and collaborate with other FGA Leaders.
- Help conduct post-event assessment meetings.
- Incorporate lessons learned into future event planning.
- Perform other specific roles distributed among the Facilitation team.
Greeter (Part of the Check-in Team)
Welcome volunteers and students
- Greet at CCC entrance and directing to the checkin table
- Be friendly and engage volunteers before 5:45pm and mostly students thereafter.
- Understand the basics of the FGA process.
Student Shuttle Drivers
Operate personal or organizational vehicles for student transportation
- Check-in at CCC and get your assignment from Lead.
- Pick up students from designated residential areas to CCC following the zone plan.
- Transport students to their residential areas from CCC after furniture selection process.
- CCC Vans require prior authorization.
Food Team
Prepare and make available food and drinks for volunteers and students
- If check-in team is not there, go directly to the kitchen.
- Prepare and make available food and drinks by 4:45pm.
- Maintain cleanliness in food and drink areas.
- Empty trash cans and replace bags.
Household Goods Team
Assist students in selecting household goods
- Clean, sort, and arrange various items.
- Maintain a calm and organized environment.
- Explain item selection limits to students.
- Replenish items as needed.
Guide Team
Assist students in selecting furniture types
- Must be >17 yrs old and willing to attend Guide Training
- Familiarize yourself with available choices and any handouts.
- Understand the basics of the FGA process.
- Provide guidance and answer student questions.

Ambassador
Ambassadors engaging with students
- Welcome students to Bloomington and the US.
- Provide information about BISM activities and services in Bloomington.
- Provide guidance and answer student questions.
- Familiarize yourself with available Guide choices and any handouts to act as a Guide backup if needed.
- Understand the basics of the FGA process.

Welcome Area Team
Welcome, assign and direct students to a guide table
- Must >15 yrs old.
- Direct students after check-in to food and guide tables
- Handoff students to an Ambassador who will be with them till they get rides home..
- Understand the basics of the FGA process.
- Inform students about the FGA process if asked.

Wrappers
Assist students in the household goods area by wrapping their selected items
- Wrap various household items to make sure it is ready for students to carry
- Maintain a calm and organized environment.
